Hydrating facial FAQs
Short, direct answers from the studio.
What is a hydrating facial?
A hydrating facial replenishes water in dehydrated skin using humectant serums such as hyaluronic acid, a hydrating mask and gentle massage, then seals it in with moisturizer and SPF. At Lumina, the 30-minute Express Hydrating Facial ($75) adds ultrasonic polishing with a gentle spatula, so skin looks plump, dewy and smoother right away. It suits dull, tight or flaky skin and is a popular choice before an event.
How often should I get a hydrating facial?
Every two to four weeks keeps skin consistently hydrated, and many clients book monthly or add one a day or two before a big event. Hydration holds longer when you support it at home with a gentle cleanser, a moisturizer suited to your skin, hyaluronic acid if you run dry, and broad-spectrum SPF every morning. Your esthetician will suggest a rhythm that fits your skin and your schedule.
What is the difference between a hydrating and a lymphatic facial?
A hydrating facial restores moisture with humectant serums and masks, while a lymphatic facial uses gentle, hands-on lymphatic drainage massage to help the face look less puffy and more rested. At Lumina, the Express Hydrating Facial focuses on hydration in 30 minutes, and the Deep Renewal Manual Facial and Lift & Sculpt Manual Facial add lymphatic massage. Your esthetician can combine both approaches for plump, de-puffed, radiant-looking skin.
Is a hydrating facial good for dehydrated or dull skin?
Yes. Dehydrated skin is short on water rather than oil, and it shows up as tightness, dullness, fine dehydration lines and makeup that won’t sit right. That is common in Fort Myers, where sun, heat, salt air and constant air conditioning pull moisture from the skin. A hydrating facial floods the skin with water-binding actives for an instantly plumper look, and regular visits help keep it comfortable.
Is there any downtime after a hydrating facial?
No. Our hydrating and lymphatic facials have zero downtime, so skin looks plump and dewy right away and makeup often goes on smoother the next morning. For best results, skip heavy makeup for about 24 hours, avoid saunas, hot yoga and very hot showers for 24 to 48 hours, hold off on retinol and acids for a day or two, and wear SPF daily.
How long does a hydrating facial take and how much does it cost?
The Express Hydrating Facial takes 30 minutes and costs $75. The Essential Radiance Facial, our barrier-focused monthly option, is $95 for 60 minutes or $129 for 90 minutes. For lymphatic massage, the Deep Renewal Manual Facial is $125 for 60 minutes or $145 for 90 minutes, and the Lift & Sculpt Manual Facial is $210 for 120 minutes. Book any of them online with instant confirmation.
