The Deep Renewal & Balance Facial: The 500-Year Art of Kobido Massage
Kira Tia By Kira Tia · Licensed Esthetician & Lead Skincare SpecialistShare
A deep renewal facial in Fort Myers at Lumina Skin Sanctuary means the Deep Renewal Manual Facial: an all-hands treatment with no machines, offered as 60 minutes ($125) or 90 minutes ($145). Warm compresses, lymphatic and facial massage, as-needed extractions and pressure-point work leave skin refreshed and tension eased.

What is a deep renewal facial, and why does it use no machines?
Most facials lean on devices for resurfacing or infusion. The Deep Renewal Manual Facial does the opposite: it is performed entirely by hand from first cleanse to final SPF. The idea is that trained touch can do things a device cannot, such as reading tension in your jaw and brow, adjusting pressure moment to moment, and slowing your whole system down while your skin gets cleaned and hydrated.
The sculpting massage in this treatment draws on Kobido-inspired technique, a traditional Japanese approach to facial massage, which is where the title of this guide comes from. It is the appointment for skin that looks tired and a mind that feels wired.
What happens during a Deep Renewal Facial, step by step?
- Consultation and skin analysis. We look at your skin and ask how stressed or rested you feel, then tailor the ritual to both.
- Manual cleanse and warm compress. Warm towels soften the skin and melt tension while the cleanse is done entirely by hand.
- Lymphatic and facial massage. Rhythmic hand movements encourage circulation, help the look of puffiness and release jaw, brow and neck tension.
- Extractions as needed. Any congestion is cleared gently by hand, only where your skin needs it.
- Treatment mask with pressure-point relief. While the mask works, pressure-point massage on the scalp, hands and shoulders deepens the relaxation.
- Hydration and SPF. Deep moisture and sun protection finish the renewal.
The 90-minute version gives the massage and pressure-point work more time, so the pace is slower and the ritual feels fuller.
Who is the Deep Renewal Facial best for?
- Anyone who prefers a purely manual, no-device facial.
- People who carry stress in the jaw, brow, neck or shoulders and want a facial that doubles as a reset.
- Skin that looks dull, puffy or dehydrated, which is common when Fort Myers humidity meets indoor air-conditioning.
- Clients with moderate congestion who want gentle, as-needed extractions rather than a heavily device-based plan.
It is a good alternating treatment too: many clients pair it with lighter maintenance facials and use it as their deeper monthly or seasonal reset.
How do I prepare for a manual facial?
- Arrive with clean skin if you can, and come 5 to 10 minutes early for your consultation.
- Skip strong exfoliating acids and retinol for 1 to 2 days beforehand.
- Avoid heavy sun exposure and tanning for 24 to 48 hours before.
- Share any medications, allergies or skin conditions so we can tailor the treatment safely.
- Come hydrated, and give yourself time afterward so you do not have to rush back to a full schedule.
What should I do after a Deep Renewal Facial?
Wear SPF every day and keep sun exposure low, which matters year-round in Southwest Florida. Skip heavy makeup for about 24 hours, avoid saunas, hot yoga and hot showers for 24 to 48 hours, and hold off on strong actives like retinol and acids for 1 to 2 days. Drink water, keep skin hydrated and be gentle with it. The relaxed feeling often lasts as long as the glow, so plan a calm evening if you can.
How is the Deep Renewal Facial different from our other services?
- Lift & Sculpt Manual Facial: the longer 120-minute sculpting version of hands-on care, from $210.
- Back-Clearing Manual Facial: the same device-free philosophy, focused on the back, from $85.
- Express Hydrating Facial: a quick glow between deeper resets.
- Anti-Aging Firming Facial: a device-assisted option when you want more targeted firming and infusion.

Your questions, answered
How much is the Deep Renewal Facial in Fort Myers?
The Deep Renewal Manual Facial at Lumina Skin Sanctuary is $125 for 60 minutes or $145 for 90 minutes. The 90-minute ritual adds extended massage and pressure-point time. Prepaid session packs of the 60-minute facial are also available: three sessions for $300 (save $75) or six for $600 (save $150). You can pay securely online when you book, and cancel or reschedule free up to 24 hours before your visit.
Is a deep renewal facial good for sensitive skin?
It is often a comfortable choice because it uses no machines. Everything is done by hand, from the cleanse to the final SPF, and your esthetician adjusts pressure and products to your skin. Tell us about allergies, medications and any sensitivities at the consultation, and we will tailor each step. If you have a diagnosed skin condition, check with your dermatologist or doctor before booking.
Is there any downtime after a manual facial?
There is no downtime. Your skin may look lightly flushed afterward, and that usually settles within an hour. You can return to your day, though we suggest SPF, a lighter makeup day if you can manage it, and pausing strong actives such as retinol and exfoliating acids for a day or two so your skin stays calm after the massage.
Should I choose the 60-minute or 90-minute Deep Renewal Facial?
Choose 60 minutes for a focused renewal that covers the full sequence: consultation, cleanse, massage, as-needed extractions, mask and hydration. Choose 90 minutes when you want a longer ritual with more massage and pressure-point time, which suits busy seasons or days when you feel especially tense. Both use the same all-hands approach, so the decision comes down to how much unhurried time you want.
How often should I book a Deep Renewal Facial?
Many clients book it monthly, or every four weeks, as a deep reset between lighter maintenance facials. Others book it seasonally before busy stretches. Massage-based effects such as a rested, de-puffed look are temporary, so a regular rhythm helps keep them going. Prepaid packs make a monthly routine easier, and our memberships offer member pricing if you plan to come in regularly.
