What does the galvanic add-on do?

Galvanic current works in two directions, and that’s exactly why it’s so useful as a booster:

  • Desincrustation — using the negative pole with an alkaline gel, the current softens and emulsifies hardened oil deep in the pore, making congestion far easier to clear. Ideal for oily, blackhead-prone skin.
  • Iontophoresis — reversing the polarity drives water-soluble hydrating or brightening actives deeper than they could travel on their own. Ideal for dull, dehydrated or uneven skin.

The word galvanic honors Luigi Galvani, the Italian scientist who discovered bioelectricity in the 1780s when he noticed a frog’s muscles twitch under an electrical charge.
